As an event planner and food writer, I hold the many different caterers I’ve used during my career to a very high standard. But I can honestly say that Delicata Catering and Chef Jed Cohan are among a tiny handful of caterers who understand exactly what you want to achieve with the food. Our most recent event was a very special party which was in a lovely home in Hanover. The invitation indicated that light fare—heavy hors d’oeuvre—would be served. We wanted the food to be casual, substantive yet with a certain amount of panache. Jed put together a wonderful menu that was exactly right for the party. And the execution was perfect: the risotto cakes were divine, the flat bread pizzas inspired and the beautiful shrimp were simple but elegant. Jed and his staff were very easy to work with and delightful to have in the open kitchen. We will use Delicata Catering again…and again…and again.

Jed and the Delicata team delighted our guests with both the presentation and quality of food served for (an) affair held in our home. The team was very accomodating setting the party up inside, last minute, after the weather decided not to cooperate with the plan. This involved changing gears from using the outside kitchen and grill to the indoor kitchen without any stress. The staff also remained attentive even when it became apparent the guests were not going to wander away from the the food and in need of being served....a testament in itself! We will be setting up a date again with Jed and I am sure the guests will be delighted to know the Delicata team is returning.

My husband and I got married outdoors and we knew we wanted our guests to enjoy local, organic food so we choose Delicata. Jed and his team went above and beyond customizing the menu to our unique tastes and creating a beautiful presentation despite the challenges of our site. Jed also had some wonderful recommendations for other vendors and worked with them to make sure it all came together perfectly for our big day.

My husband is a big foodie and we wanted to try and have an eco-friendly wedding, so we were aiming to find a talented caterer that got their food from local farms. Unfortunately, we also had a VERY tight budget, which we thought meant we were going to have to compromise on one of those things. Add in the fact that we were planning a wedding in NH from Brooklyn, and we were extremely nervous to find someone we could work out the details from a distance with. It was a lucky day when we found Jed at Delicata. He worked with us from the start to ensure we could provide quality, delicious, local and seasonal food at a price we could actually afford. And he was great about having to work remotely with us to smooth out a lot of details. We had appetizers during cocktail hour and a family style meal. Guest are still raving about the food a month later. Our wedding party dragged us back from visiting tables, saying there was no way we could miss what Jed was serving. I'm still dreaming of the braised beef... The entire staff was friendly, accompanying and a true pleasure to work with, especially on what could have been a chaotic day. Hire him!!
